Your Opus journal lives on your device and in your private iCloud. Starting today, you can take it anywhere else, too. Tap the three-dots menu on your Journal and choose Export.

Two formats, two purposes

Markdown reads like your journal: entries grouped by month, ratings as stars, your notes alongside each work. It's easy to read and pastes cleanly anywhere text goes.

JSON is the complete, structured version — every entry with its composer, work, rating, notes, and recording, in a stable format that apps, scripts, and tools can understand.

Made for AI assistants

This feature started with a request from a listener who wanted to use their journal with an AI assistant. It's a great idea. Attach your export to a conversation with Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok and ask it things your journal knows the answers to:

• "What eras and composers am I neglecting?"
• "Based on my highest-rated works, what should I hear next?"
• "How has my taste changed since I started logging?"

Either format works well — Markdown if you want to read along, JSON if you want the assistant to have every detail.

Your journal stays yours

A listening journal is a long-term project, and you should never wonder whether years of entries are stuck in one app. Export is our answer: your history, in open formats, whenever you want it.

Update Opus from the App Store, open your Journal, and tap Export. Then ask your favorite assistant what you should listen to tonight — and log what you think of it.
